The Interoperability of a VoIP Phone Service Is an Important Task
By azizzii
Interoperability is one of the most critical features of a carrier grade Hosted PBX solution. The enterprises do not like surprises, especially when we talk about a Hosted phone service. These services work with devices like SIP phones, which mean Soft phones, hard phones, SBC which stands for Session Border Controllers and other VoIP phone service equipment.
Observance of standards
It is always recommended that all the Hosted IP PBX solutions should be accommodated with the IETF RFC 3161 specification for SIP protocol. This is a necessary requirement to make sure that the hosted PBX will be able to work out with other SIP based devices. The situation would turn bad when your VoIP service drops calls, because it cannot understand the headers in the incoming message. Many VoIP service systems actually face the problem of call drop when it comes to the highly advanced features of SIP privacy. This happens because they do not understand the incoming call messages and that is why they do not have an idea as to what action needs to be performed.
Assorted networks
Some of the large organizations find that the best solution to this problem is to choose different retailers for different components of the network. To work in this way, it is important that the entire network element will be interoperable with one another. For example, a company can acquire a different vendor for one office; a different vendor for some other office.
Correct Arrangement
The correct arrangement of the calls is also extremely necessary. For this purpose, to direct the calls correctly, a number of business VoIP service providers require appropriate interoperability configuration. If the calls that are destined outside the IP network are failing, the reason might be that the calls are routed through the switches that are connected to the PSTN. Most of the professional hosted VoIP phone service vendors have posted their interoperability configuration information on their websites.
Testing is the key
The best way to make sure that your VoIP service is high on interoperability scale is to test it thoroughly. You can conduct this test with an installed base of venture communication systems.
Stay Up to date and advanced
The technology of VoIP has won amazing popularity since a few years. It has acquired quite a few changes with the passage of time. If you want your VoIP service to work as per your requirement, you also need to update yourself with these advancements. Therefore, as a professional VoIP phone service provider, you need to stay focused, updated with the latest standards and upgrade your system accordingly. This is important to ascertain maximum interoperability in the product the VoIP service vendors are offering.
The issue of interoperability has caused many problems to the VoIP service providers and the customers since the very early PBX installations. That is why it is necessary to choose a VoIP service that has passed all the tests regarding the interoperability. This will help the consumers make and receive local and international calls without any disturbance and call drop.

Well it is unfortunate that you did not check the site carefully. First of all nearly every person living on the planet is acquainted with voip requirements so voip phone providers don't mentioned it at prominent placed of their web sites.
Second thing is that exact requirements are mentioned in the FAQ of all websites. It is unfortunate that you could not check the web site before sign up. My sympathies are with you.
You are saying that testing is the key. How can I check without buying or sign up that the service is up to the mark. Same way it would be useless to check if you are doing it after buying.
You are right. It would be useless to check after buying the service. However, there are certain indicators that show you the quality of service. The main indicator is their help line. If they are offering good sales support, obviously, they can provide you good service also.

There is a lot of noise about voip. I signed up with a big name but unfortunately, it did not work at all on my internet. I was told that voip did not work with dial up connection. This is what they should have told me before payment.
