Axvoice Vs Vonage - Who is the best in Quality and Cost?
By azizzii
Axvoice and Vonage are two leading names in the VoIP Industry but only one gets to be on top. Which one? That we’ll find out. The following service comparison will make it easier to see which takes precedence over the other:
Cost Comparison:
When we talk about cost, we need to be specific about one thing first. VoIP phones, no matter, which ever Service Provider you sign up with, still offer you calling charges three times less than your traditional landline phone. This means that you can save significantly on your calling costs using VoIP phone services.
When comparing Vonage Unlimited USA/Canada Plan with Axvoice Residential USA/Canada Plan, you would notice a considerable difference in basic plan cost. Axvoice costs merely $19.99, whereas Vonage is WOW - $24.99. See the cost difference?
Shipping and handling cost for Vonage is $9.95 with first month charges to cost you $68.03 and second month’s cost drops to $26.49, which makes a total of $104.47. Now, take a look at Axvoice. It costs $9.99 for shipment, first month costs $29.98 and second month costs $19.99, making a total for $59.96. Compare the prices, you’ll be shocked to notice the huge difference - $44.51 isn’t a small amount to pay when Axvoice is keeping you same VoIP features at a cost less and very appropriate.
Did I mention that Axvoice charges $0 for activation and Vonage $ 29.99? Well, now I did.
Now looking at the first year total cost, Vonage charges you with $357.82 and Axvoice $249.87. Again, you find a major difference in cost, it is enough to make me change my mind and use Axvoice, if I get a service that gives excellent quality of service at a cost, which my pocket can afford? What would you say to it?
Difference of VoIP features for both services:
However, Axvoice and Vonage are similar in offering virtual number facility, soft phone support, number porting, toll free access, etc. but there still are some differences, which cannot be overlooked.
Comparing the residential plans for the services again, we will notice that Axvoice VoIP service facilitates you with BYOD service, which stands for ‘Bring Your Own Device’. This means that you can even use or supply your own VoIP equipment. Since mostly VoIP service providers, supply their own equipment, which is compatible with only their service and does not support to be used for any other service. This way you can use your own device and use it with any service provider who gives you the facility that you want.
On contrary to Axvoice, Vonage does not give a BYOD service to its subscribers and insists on providing their own equipment, which is compatible with their service, thus restricting your choice of usage.
Secondly, you can make a test call with Axvoice VoIP service before signing up, which is again a positive and valid step but Vonage doesn’t accommodate you with that service.
Thirdly, you are provided with 20 Basic VoIP features when you sign up with Axvoice residential plan, plus 6 additional advanced features. However, in Vonage, basic VoIP features are only 17 in count with no advanced features and even if you do ask for some other features along, you get charged for each service that you add.
Calling to International Destinations
Axvoice offers best international calling quality, which is definitely the opposite in Vonage. I don’t know why it is so hopeless, when Vonage has so compelling advertising strategies, promising to give the finest services among its contenders.
Well, this was what my experience taught me. Does yours say about it?

thanks JenniferKapriati for sharing your experience with us
One should go for the service, features and cost. Guess, Axvoice works big time.
I give Axvoice full marks since I have used both these companies VoIPs and settled on Axvoice.
Are you kidding me???
Vonage with Axvoice It is like comparing mouse with elephant!
Besides that, I had 1-st hands experience with one of the companies above - there is NO customer service at all! even no phone number to call with any problem/issue or question.
If you have a problem - you really DO have a problem...
Make a good guess which company I am talking about :)))
I will give the points to Axvoice since it has good quality and low rates.
Well every one has a right to go with his choice. However, we must always keep our minds open. Companies keep on developing and declining. We must keep an eye on the best one. We should think, which company has better package and service quality.

Yes i agree sometimes big companies keep on going just because they are "big" and not because of their service. This seems to be the case with vonage too as right now they are going simply on their repute. I am an asterisk engineer and have to deal with approximately all major vendors. My experience is their enthusiasim for customer care is not same as it used to be a few years back.
